Poem: “Creator’s Plan”

From the vastness of eternity, needed now as human;
From far beyond our imagining, contracted to a span –
Yours is the paradox of longing
That would hold us so completely when we long to be like you.

From the dawn of your creation, to the evening of your trial;
From the zenith of your power to the servanthood of all –
Yours is the paradox of love
That would hold us so completely when we long to be like you.

From praises and adoration – to be shunned and then denied;
From the timelessness of history to being crucified –
Yours is the paradox of passion
That would hold us so completely when we long to go with you.

From the glory and the blackness, it has ever been your way
To restore throughout all creation a loving interplay.
Yours is the paradox of being
That would hold us so completely and now make us one with you!

Additional Words for Post Easter:

From the wonder of resurrection, it’s always been your place
To rescue your creation and see all responding to your grace.
Yours is the paradox of freedom
That longs for us to join you in the fulfilling of your plan!

From the promise of your Spirit, it’s always been your hope
That we would find the courage to trust in your power and cope.
Yours is the paradox of our choice
That risks us ignoring you and failing to share in your plan!

Yet still your love and grace abound, and in us you still do trust.
May we take risks as Jesus did - see our calling as a must.
Yours is an eternal gift of trust
That tests your patience beyond belief - and yet - still you love us!
