last week I saw a boy, maybe 8 or 9 years old,
sitting on the steps outside a maisonette.
This week our children should be back at school.
I know they keep promoting the merits
of online teaching,
I worry about those children
for whom school is light and space
who miss the order of the classroom;
books to read, pencils, paper
and a healthy lunch.
As we hold in our thoughts
and our hearts
these children and their families
we ask that those who bear the responsibility
of putting it all back together again
may act with wisdom and sensitivity.
