On Easter Day, with the sun shining and our neighbours in their gardens it was decided to share out small chocolate eggs (you know the sort: the soft filled variety that overload the calorie counter).
After some thought they were dispatched over the high fences using long-handled kitchen tongs. This made the delivery a hit and miss affair, with eggs either failing to take off or crash landing, however, the eggs arrived, a little muddied and bruised but, in line with best practice, untouched by human hand.
The unfolding drama – would they, wouldn’t they – raised a smile and won’t be forgotten.
we know that sometimes the gift is in the giving.
in these days of restriction and inertia
help us to be imaginative and generous
in the small things of life.
